Guangzhou Geny Electric Delivers 32-Position, 160A Three-Phase Meter Test System for Utility Application in Hong Kong

 

In 2025, Guangzhou Geny Electric Ltd. successfully delivered a 32-position, 160A three-phase test system for utility meter testing applications in Hong Kong.

The supplied system was configured to support high-accuracy testing and calibration of single-phase and three-phase energy meters, including smart meter communication and selected functional test requirements. Based on GENY’s YC1893D platform, the solution included a three-phase power source, reference standard meter, test racks, communication interfaces, optical probes, QCD connection devices, and isolation current transformers for closed-link meter applications.

The project required a combination of measurement accuracy, operational flexibility, and adaptation to local technical practices. To meet these requirements, the system was designed with 32 test positions, current output up to 160A, and support for automatic, semi-automatic, and manual operation.

Key system capabilities include:

· Parallel testing of multiple meters

· High-current output up to 160A

· Class 0.02 accuracy

· Smart meter optical communication

· ICT-based isolated current output

· Harmonic and influence quantity testing

· Forward and reverse energy testing

The delivered system features:

· 32 Test Positions: Enabling efficient parallel testing.

· Current Output up to 160A: Suitable for various meter types, including closed-loop smart meters.

· Class 0.02 Accuracy: Ensuring precision in measurement.

System Configuration

The system includes a three-phase static power source, reference standard meter, multi-position test racks, optical probes, quick connector devices, and isolation current transformers. The configuration allows for flexible operation in automatic, semi-automatic, and manual modes, ensuring adaptability to various testing scenarios.
